Giacomo (Jack) Braglia, nato a Lugano nel 1996, é un giovane artista fotografo che usa i suoi lavori per conversare con le persone trasmettendo i pensieri più forti e i momenti più emozionanti che ha provato mentre scattava. Usa una tecnica particolare, stampando le sue foto su sculture in gesso e in acciaio, cambiando così, la profondità delle sue foto da due a tre dimensioni. Con questo metodo egli rende le sue fotografie animate e corpose, permettendo allo spettatore di interagirvi. Jack ha già fatto tre mostre personali a Londra, Venezia e Cortina ed è stato selezionato per la Biennale di Venezia 2019.
Giacomo Braglia was born in Lugano, Switzerland on July 12, 1996. At an early age, he displayed a strong inclination for art, with a particular predisposition towards photography. Between 2016 and 2017 he resided in London and with the help of a friend, he furthered his technical and professional mastery of photographic instruments, refining his productive potential. In January 2018, he was amongst the participants in the international Art Rooms Fair in London. The same year the Contini Art Gallery dedicated to Giacomo Braglia two solo exhibitions held in their galleries in Venice and Cortina d’Ampezzo, where he presented his collection of photographic works entitled “Conversations”. Giacomo Braglia is among the artists chosen to represent the Syrian Arab Republic at the 58th International Art Exhibition – Venice Biennale, with the project Syrian Civilization is Still Alive, curated by Emad Kashout.
